Over the Moon Music and More
/Over the Moon Music and More, LLC, was founded in 2005 by Jackie Freimor, who began her Music Together career as a mom in class. In 2009, we acquired our first storefront location in Scarsdale, New York and currently offer classes not only in Scarsdale but also in Chappaqua, Mount Kisco, Tarrytown, and Tuckahoe.
Almost all of the classes we offer are Music Together classes. Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, big kids, and the adults who love them! Research-based and developmentally appropriate, the Music Together curriculum helps families, caregivers, and early childhood professionals rediscover the pleasure in and educational value of informal musical experiences. Music Together's nine song collections, each identified by its own color, instrument name, and graphic--are presented in a 3-year cycle of three semesters per year. They are nonsequential, so a family can join at any semester and attend class for 3 full years before cycling back to repeat their first collection.
Music Together classes build on your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement. They'll help you provide your child with the basic musical skills needed to enjoy school and social musical activities, and to study an instrument should he or she choose to do so.
Each class includes songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences, developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers, regardless of their own musical ability.
Babies and mixed-age classes are for children from birth through 6 months and from birth through kindergarten age, respectively, accompanied by a parent and/or other adult caregiver. Each babies and mixed-age class meets for 45 minutes once weekly. Adults can take solo classes, too! We offer the Guitar for Grownups program for beginner guitar-players who want to wow their families.
There is also a mommy-and-me beginner ukulele program for children and their caregivers. This program was developed not by Music Together but by Jackie in response to requests from her families.
