Updated for 2019: EVERY Westchester Tots Library Program in One Easy List

Hi everyone!

It's back and better than ever! Every library program for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in the county. In ONE. EASY. LIST. We've updated it for the year ahead, removing old listings and adding in what's new.

EVERY BABY, TODDLER, & PRESCHOOL LIBRARY PROGRAM IN ONE EASY LIST

We hate to geek out on our own creation, but ... ERMAGAWD! It's so great!

A quick user's guide!

  • Start by choosing a weekday to check out, from there the programs are listed in chronological order.

  • Click on a title to read the full description.

  • Select the town category at the bottom of each entry to see a list of all the programs in that town on the weekday chosen.

  • Be sure to double check the age range and any restrictions such as "registration required" or "open only to cardholders" of a specific town library.

  • If registration is required, head to that library's website for info on how to sign up.

  • Once you find a program you are interested in attending, check the library's website to ensure the class is meeting on the date you'd like to visit. These are regular weekly programs, but there will be days throughout the year that classes don't meet due to holidays or special events. And keep in mind some programs may not have begun yet, but are scheduled to roll out in late September or early October. Some may also take a hiatus in December and January.

Some notes for Fall 2019

  • The Scarsdale library is still undergoing renovations and have moved their programs to the Library Loft on nearby Heathcote Avenue, Because of this, their schedule is limited in scope and is mostly restricted to Scarsdale residents.

  • Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, and Armonk don’t have their full Fall schedules up yet, so watch this space.

Some of our favorite programs include:

  • FIESTA! With Flor Bromley: Spanish and English songs and fun. She performs all around the county, including Montrose, Irvington, and Croton-on-Hudson.

  • Mommy & Me Yoga: Why shell out at a studio when you can try it out for free? This is happening at Shrub Oak, Armonk, Croton-on-Hudson, New Rochelle, North White Plains, Mount Vernon, and Bronxville.

  • New Moms & Infants Support Group: This program is about 2 hours and is baby and sibling friendly. Come to laugh, cry, and vent. Taking place in Ossining, Montrose, and Croton-on-Hudson.

  • Sign Time with Chloe: This always-in-demand children's performer sings, plays instruments, and even teaches baby sign language. Available at New Rochelle, Port Chester, Rye, and Harrison.

  • Train Time: You don't have to stake out Barnes & Noble's sad little train table when you can head to both branches of the Harrison Library for an hour of free play. This program also takes place in Peekskill.

  • Musical Munchkins: Teachers from the popular paid Musical Munchkins early learning program sing and dance with your kids for free! Available in Pound Ridge and as a once-a-month event in Bronxville (check our monthly events calendar for details.)

  • And keep in mind some libraries don’t commit to regular weekly programs. Some of our favorites like Bronxville and Larchmont have great children’s activities almost every day, but they’re always different. To find out about those check out our events calendar .

Okay, have at it! And if you like what you see, please share it with everyone you know! In a perfect world we'd never see another post on Facebook asking "Where can I take my 6-month-old during the week?" or "Anything going on today?" or "Free stuff to do on a Wednesday morning?"

The excuse meter has been set to 0. There's bound to be a program near you for your age group on the day of your choosing. Hooray! Our ongoing gratitude goes to the BabyGotChat OG, Rosalind, who launched this endeavor back in 2015.

That's it for this week! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and check our website for events. And if you like the library list, please sign up for our weekly emails at BabyGotChat.com and help keep the lights on!

See you next time!

Andrea
