Chef and Holistic Health Coach, Jenifer Curtis helps inspire kids and parents about healthy eating through the joy of cooking together with her hands-on, 6-week “cooking” program: Exploring Healthy, Seasonal Foods Through a Rainbow of Colors. Caretakers are invited to relax in the cafe/lounge or shop while the kids build their new skills.
Ages 3-6 years.
Week 1: Awesome Sauces- Learn to create sauces with natural ingredients. Skills taught: peeling.
Week 2: Perfect Purees- Learn to make home-made purees. Skills taught: mashing, scrubbing veggies.
Week 3: Super & Smooth- Easy, quick and nutrient-rich, breakfast ideas. Skills taught: blending, mixing.
Week 4: Real & Raw- Green salads. Skills taught: whisking, tearing greens.
Week 5: Powerful Proteins- Creating seasonings that complement your favorite proteins. Skills taught: measuring, spice grinding.
Week 6: Very Veggies- Interesting, creative ways to get your kids to eat their veggies! Skills taught: toothpick skewering.
All utensils are child friendly; any special appliances needed will be brought in and operated by the instructor. Families can take home their dish. At the end of the 6-week session, children will take home their own “cook book" with all recipes included.
